My family has been going to the science museum since I was just a little kid and my now husband and I have been going together for about 3 years so we knew wanted to have our reception there. We had our reception in the Elements Cafe, which is a big open space that overlooks the museum and has a great patio area that looks out to the Mississippi river. During the day it is their cafeteria area for guests, but you could never tell that was the case once it is decorated! We had beautiful draping with lights going across the ceiling, they have a very nice black draping that covers the cafeteria area, and fun mood lighting. Everything was so elegant, the staff are top professionals, and it all flowed together! We loved everything! 100% would recommend for wedding receptions or other events you may host!

We held our ceremony in the Sunken Garden and our reception in the Bullard Rainforest Auditorium. The people at Como were great to work with and super responsive. Our pictures are gorgeous and all our guests had a great time -- everyone commented that they loved the food and the ceremony space. We had the sloth (Chloe) come for cocktail hour - definitely worth the extra $. She was so adorable and everyone loved it.

Cheron is extremely helpful and patient throughout the whole wedding planning process. She helped me determine what details are most important about the wedding and smoothly worked with all of my other vendors to produce a beautiful and affordable wedding! The space was beautiful and the flexible weather back up plan was great, at the last minute we were able to have an outdoor ceremony even though it had rained all morning. Guests loved the food, especially the late night snacks! We are very glad we decided to go with Edinburgh as our venue!

My husband and I are both very "sciencey" people (he's a chemist and I'm in medicine) so what better place to have our wedding reception that the Science Museum? We have a lot of children in our extended families, and they thought it was amazing that they were able to bring their kids through the museum before the event began. Weddings can be very long days, so it was great to have this opportunity in between ceremony and reception (we had our ceremony at a church in St. Paul) for people to kick back and have some fun. The food was excellent, they even made us pies instead of cake, and all of the guests were raving about the space (we were in Elements Cafe). Overall, a great venue!

The venue representatives and staff were all very professional, informed, and helpful. They worked with our budget, the menu options were delicious (they worked with food constrain and our guests loved our food), helped us weave in meaningful details, and we had our dream wedding.

The Sunken Garden is an amazing ceremony location, the flowers give such a great ambiance and romantic environment. Contacting the facilities over email was very easy, and they responded to our questions accurately and on time. The 1.5 hour timeslot is not super flexible, but the room was ready when they said it would be on time. We rented a microphone but didn't end up needing it since you can project well in the room. The sound system provided was easy to hook up music to play over the speakers, and sounded great. Overall it was exactly what was advertised, and it was a lovely venue.

Everyone that attending our reception loved the space, decorations, food, cake, and staff. The staff was super friendly and attending to all of our needs. It made the night run smoothly. Cheron is super sweet and answered any questions we had throughout the entire process.

We had our reception in the Covered Porch. The venue was incredible. It is amazing how they turn a hallway into a such beautiful venue! If you are looking for an intimate space for 200 people or less, look here! Add the fern room and splurge on the chair covers. You won't regret it!

We are so grateful we choose the Science Museum for our wedding reception! We booked the Elements Café and our guests loved the unique venue. The entire team, and especially Kaitlin, were a joy to work with while planning. We sent probably over 100 emails before the big day and Kaitlin was always super helpful and quick to respond every time. Before finding the science museum, we looked at many venues around the metro and found the science museum’s prices to be very reasonable. I really can't recommend them enough. The space is so fun and includes many extra’s like admission to the museum and validated parking and tons of great photo spots – we used the musical stairs for our family photos. The terrace was heavily utilized all night with gorgeous views of the Mississippi. It was an absolutely perfect venue and wonderful experience working with Kaitlin and the entire team.

We had our wedding reception at Edinburgh on July 7th, 2017. It was the most amazing night. From the beginning of the planning to the day of, everything was fabulous. Cheron was so helpful in every step. I got so many complements on the food, the room, and the service. I cannot say one bad thing. If you want a painfree, easy, and fabulous wedding, Edinburgh is the place to go.

Thank you to Kaitlin and her team for a beautiful day!! I planned the entire wedding remotely from a different state, and Kaitlin's replies to emails were timely and thorough enough that it was as easy as being there. I wish I could relive the day over and over again- the venue, the coordination and the food were all excellent, and we received compliments galore on all of the above. I went to the Science Museum often as a child, and it was so special to enjoy the best day of my life there with family and friends. Mahalo from Hawaii!!

The sunken garden is a breathtaking place to get married. The Conservatory is a jaw dropping crystal palace to begin with, but once you get into the sunken garden ... it's like a European fairytale garden from a dream. Our guests could hardly believe their eyes and I honestly couldn't have picked a more beautiful ceremony venue in Minnesota. I also couldn't believe that the entire place is kept operational by donations and event rentals. During regular business hours, there's no admissions to these lovely gardens for the public, and only a $2-3 suggested donation to get in. I loved the idea that my wedding ceremony helped pay to keep these gardens so accessible to the public. I do want to mention that this place is not very flexible. This is because it's a public garden that's open 7 days a week during the day to the public first, and a private wedding venue in the evenings second. Once you understand that, it's easy to understand why there are certain limitations - their priority is (and should be) to preserve the gardens first. Consequently, it's a perfect place for a small elegant wedding for a mostly adult guestlist.
